USDT is issued on more than one blockchain. TRC20 usually identifies the TRON version; ERC20 describes a token standard used on Ethereum and other compatible networks. Matching the ticker alone does not establish that a receiving service supports your transfer.
Check three separate fields
Confirm the asset, the exact network and the receiving address. A service supporting USDT on Ethereum may not credit USDT sent on TRON. A valid-looking address is not proof of support, and the token contract shown by an issuer is not your personal deposit address.
Why an address check is insufficient
Some compatible chains use similar address formats. Copying an address without reading the network label can therefore pass a visual check while still producing the wrong transaction. Use the receiving service’s current instructions, then compare them with the sending wallet’s selected network.
Costs are not fixed by the ticker
Network fees, service withdrawal charges, minimum deposits and confirmation requirements are separate items. There is no reliable universal statement that every TRC20 transfer costs a particular amount or arrives within a fixed number of seconds.
If a transfer is missing
- Record the transaction ID and actual network.
- Check the destination and token using that chain’s explorer.
- Compare the confirmed transfer with the recipient’s supported-network instructions.
- Contact the recipient through its verified support channel.
Do not share a seed phrase or private key. Recovery from an unsupported network may be impossible and must not be assumed. Blockchain confirmation also does not prove a casino is licensed, solvent or obliged to accept that network.
